Twilight struggle sebetulnya temasuk game hand management juga tapi pakai board utk melihat status pengaruh dan kekuasaan dalam suatu negara hinga area, game ini pakai point juga, inti game adalah inflluence, kartu2 yg dipakai bisa menaikkan atau menurunkan influence, ada faktor lain spt military operation , space race, kejadian2 dikartu berdasarkan sejarah2 yg ada tapi kaitannya ada yg benar ada yg diprediksi berkaitan, paling gak abis maen twilight struggle ngerti dikitlah politik amrik dan Rusia jamn dulu utk saling menarik influence, ada hal lain juga pihak yg mentrigger perang nuklir akan kalah... jadi kita harus balancing kejar nilai boleh tapi gak boleh keterlaluan karena aka mentrigger tindakan lawan yg tidak rasional dari pihak lawan.

Cold war lebih ringan lebih berfokus pada agent2 yg ada dilapangan, nilai masih tetap dapat dari negara2 yg berhasil dipengaruhi, namun satu persatu (krn level agent, kalo TS kan pilihannya langsung seluruh dunia, jadi Coldwar lebih micronya dari TS, kalo TS lebih Makro, tapi esensi nya sama yaitu influence, kalo suka TS pasti suka CW tapi suka CW belum tentu suka TS (tp sebagian besar pasti suka), karena CW bisa under 1 hour kalo TS pasti lebih dari 1 hour (bisa sampai 2 hour), tp sayang TS cukup mahal krn langka dan lagi semuanya cardboard saja (tidak ada komponen kayu atau plastik sama sekali.

Denger2 April ini udah publish. Tapi perlu dicatat bahwa untuk game2 dari perusahaan spesialis wargame biasanya komponennya tidak sebagus dari perusahaan2 macem FFG. Artwork bagus tapi biasanya boardnya tidak mounted dll.
Biasanya board saya scan trus dikasih mount biar bagus.

Bisa menang dengan beberapa cara : Victory points (ngerebut wilayah, dll), atau Legitimacy (mengusahakan diri kita sebaga pewaris sah)

Prologue
After 323 B.C., the empire was split into four. Ptolemy ruled in Egypt and allied with Perdiccas in Babylon looked set to succeed to the throne of our late great King. All they had to do was to escort his sema back to Pella to be buried in the Royal Mausoleum and by that very act gain sufficient legitimacy to claim the throne. Should they wish to be more subtle, they could just wait for the boy Alex IV to come of age, make him king, and become the power behind the throne. Yes, victory was in their grasps.

But Antipater, Strategos of Europe, waited in Pella and no one imagined he would allow Ptolemy and Perdiccas to just walk into Pella and claim the throne without a fight. In fact, Perdiccas’s ally Leonnatus, Satrap of Hellespontine, would probably intercept them before they even set foot in Europe.

On the other hand, rather than wait for Ptolemy and Perdiccas to come to them, the alliance of Antigonus of Phrygia and Peithon of Media could actually take the initiative. They had a clear path to move into Babylon if they so choose.

Last and least, were the bit players of Lysimachus of Thrace and Craterus of Cilicia. Separated by enemies in Hellespontine and Phrygia, all they could realistically hope for was to settle for the scraps from the table of the winners, whoever they might be. Such was the chaos in the Macedonian Empire in 323 B.C.

323-320 B.C.
The first few years were the calm before the storm. Antipater (the one-eyed) consolidated his hold on Macedonia and began to systematically reduce Thessaly. The going was steady but slow as the Thessalians fought hard to keep their independence. Leonnatus likewise secured Hellespontine and was slowly and painfully subduing Lydia. But the real success stories in this period were Ptolemy who expanded into Judea and Perdiccas who quickly secured Babylonia and even began to menace Susiana. Perdiccas’s strength in Babylonia probably persuaded Peithon to remain a peaceful neighbor and invested his energy stirring up trouble with his barbarian proxies in Atropatene. Antigonus, however, was steadily building up a respectable force in Phrygia and began the subjugation of Lydia. Lysimachus pacified Triballi. Craterus, in a lightning strike conquered Damascus and took Heracles, the illegitimate son of Alexander, under his protection. He then secured Cilicia and proceeded to contest Judea with Ptolemy.

319-316 B.C.
Wheels set in motion previously began to gather speed. Antipater finally subdued Thessaly and began to incorporate Greece into his sphere of influence. In the process he gained control of the Athenian fleet and became a naval power to be reckoned with. Leonnatus, however was pushed out of Lydia but took Caria making Antipater and him the undisputed master of Mare Internum. This effectively closed the sea route to Pella. If Ptolemy and Perdiccas had hoped to get Alexander’s body to Pella, it would have to be done the hard way – by land. Perhaps in anticipation of this, Antigonus continued to build his forces in Phrygia. He took control of Lydia and began to invest Lycia. He recruited Seleucus to his cause and stirred up the Scythians against Lysimachus. Lysimachus put the Scythians down but was killed in battle. This was a major disaster for the Thracians but worse was to follow. Through treachery, Ptolemy arranged for Craterus’s Judean troops to switch side and then launched a surprise attack on him. Craterus was defeated and his army scattered to the wind. Craterus himself barely escaped with his life and spent the next two years evading Ptolemy’s forces while making his way slowly back to the only Thracian forces left in Asia. Just before this catastrophe, a minor general had taken a small reconnoitering force to Salamis to prepare for a siege. He finally managed to take the great port in 316 B.C. but he, and another minor general in Thrace who had taken control of Lysimachus’s troops after his death, was all that was left of the Lysimachus-Craterus alliance.

After smashing Craterus, Ptolemy could now proceed to take over Coele Syria and Syria, which he did. Perdiccas meanwhile had taken control of Mesopotamia and moved rapidly to link up with Ptolemy, bringing along Alexander’s body and his young heir, Alexander IV. Their next target was obviously Antigonus, who in full cognizance of that fact, now issued a public condemnation of Ptolemy’s naked ambition for the throne. Coupled with his earlier treachery against Craterus, Ptolemy’s legitimacy in the eyes of the Macedonian public evaporated. This, in turn, eroded the loyalty of many of Ptolemy and Perdiccas’s troops who till then had believed they were fighting for Alexander’s legitimate heirs. Still by the end of 316 B.C., they were the undisputed masters of Africa and Asia with no credible opponents as far as the eyes could see.

315-311 B.C.
In 315 B.C. Ptolemy and Perdiccas linked up in Phoenicia. Still, Ptolemy was not keen on proceeding by land. To do so, he would have to fight his way through Antigonus, Leonnatus and the Thracians who were now led by Eumenes, a very competent general. While Antipater had died of old age, his son Cassander has succeeded him and commanded a respectable force in defense of Pella. All in all, the land route to Pella was uninviting, to say the very least. Cassander also had the strongest navy and to counteract this, Ptolemy cast his eyes on the Cypriot fleet in Salamis. Salamis, the sole Thracian presence in Asia had been reinforced with whatever meager troops Thrace could send after the debacle of the previous years. Craterus, too, had finally made his way to Salamis and resume command. Craterus also traded Heracles to Cassander for a promise of non-aggression and for the boy’s safety. Still, Salamis was a mere irritant in Ptolemy’s eye. Ptolemy decided to take Salamis with a full force of phalanxes, mercenaries, and elephants.

It was at that point that the supplications of the people reached the ears of the gods on Mount Olympus. And Zeus bade Poseidon to blow upon the sea. The wind was not strong enough to sink Ptolemy’s ships but it did toss them about, so when they finally did land at Salamis, Ptolemy’s men and elephants were exhausted by sea-sickness. The heavily outnumbered Thracians charged the disembarking enemy at the waterline and there was fearful slaughter. In the ensuing battle, the Thracians won by a mere point on the dice but it was enough to scatter Ptolemy’s army to the wind. It was now Ptolemy’s turn to go into hiding. Craterus, seeing the hands of the gods in this unexpected victory, took his army to Phoenicia the very next year and attacked Perdiccas. Craterus was again out-numbered but in an echo of Alexander at Gaugemela, he roundly defeated Perdiccas. Perdiccas’s army melted into the wind and he followed Ptolemy into hiding. To top it all, both Alexander’s body and Alexander IV fell into Craterus’s hands. In a stunning reversal of the previous year, the Ptolemy-Perdiccas alliance was now leaderless and prostate. Peithon wasted no time attacking Babylonia and would methodically take over that province despite the studied resistance of Perdiccas’s garrisons.

Craterus had no time to celebrate. Questioning Alexander IV, he realized with horror that though he was the rightful heir, Heracles whom he had handed to Cassander, would come of age by 310 B.C. and could claim the throne then. Alexander IV on the other hand, would not be of age until 305 B.C. Realizing the enormity of his blunder, Craterus now threw caution to the wind. He immediately began a forced march north, thus putting himself out of striking distance of Antigonus in Lydia. That march would be a military feat unrivalled until the Long March. Day after day, they marched on leaving a trail of men who dropped from hunger and exhaustion. Craterus took his army north into the barbarian country of Cappadocia all the way to Amaseia and then wheeled west into Bithynia. The countryside was filled with enemy tribes all the way but devoid of organized resistance. At the same time, Eumenes took his army east and both Thracian armies finally met and combined forces at Nicaea. Leonnatus had hurried up to Byzantium with whatever troops he could gather and tried to block Craterus from crossing into Europe but he was forced to beat a hasty retreat by the combined strength of Craterus and Eumenes. In November 311 B.C. the Thracians finally reached the gates of Pella....

Cassander and Leonnatus had gathered an army of over 28,000 men (including the famed Silver Shields) at Pella while Craterus and Eumenes only had about 18,000 men left. In the climatic battle of the Macedonian Civil War, Craterus’s superior generalship proved decisive as despited being out-numbered, hungry, and exhausted, his troops defeated the inexperienced Cassander by a single point of the dice. Cassander’s army melted away like mist in the morning sun.

Epilogue
Craterus entered Pella and was re-united with Heracles. In December 311 B.C. Alexander was finally buried with full aplomb after 12 years of civil war. The following spring, Heracles ascended to the throne with Craterus as Regent for Life. Alexander IV renounced all claims to the throne and left for a life of religious contemplation in Hyrcania. He was never heard from again. The other claimants to the throne also dissappeared or died mysteriously soon after. The Diadoch Wars were over.
